Kids Bike

Kid’s bikes are a big sales item, even in today’s electronics driven world. They are built with safety and learning as primary design elements. A child learning to ride can be a proud parenting moment, but it can also be fraught with worry. After all there’s a lot that can happen on a bike, and every child will take some spills when learning to ride.

Kid’s bikes have many safety features that make them simpler and safer to operate than adult bikes. For instance they have a single gear, with a chain guard rather than the multiple gears on adult bicycles. The chain guard prevents clothing from being caught in the moving chain, and a single gear means your child doesn’t have to worry about learning to shift while they’re trying to learn to balance.

Another great safety feature found on kid’s bikes are the training wheels. These attach to either side of the bike’s rear wheel and help a child get a feel for the balance of a bike. They can be gradually lifted to decrease a child’s reliance on them until they are ultimately removed and your child can ride all on their own. This won’t stop your child from taking a few spills while learning to ride, but it can be a great confidence booster.
