Pocket Bike
A pocket bike is an extremely small motorcycle. These were originally invented for recreational use, and have caught on in recent years. They use small four stroke engines and are not usually street legal. This means that if you are caught on the street with one, you can have a laundry list of tickets thrown at you.
The tickets an officer can choose to give a pocket bike rider include the following (more could be applicable in certain jurisdictions): Lack of registration, lack of insurance, lack of a turn signal, no license plate, no horn, no rear view mirror, improper noise dampening equipment (muffler), operating a vehicle without a license, and reckless driving. That can all add up to a hefty fine, and one you should seek to avoid.
Higher end pocket bikes usually meet the requirements to be registered with the state as either a moped or a motorcycle. Going through this registration process will ensure that your bike won’t be a target for many of those tickets. Avoiding a ticket for reckless driving is up to you.
